There is nothing quite as comforting as a warm bowl of oatmeal on a chilly morning. Baking the oats gives them a wonderful cake-like texture, while the apples and walnuts provide a massive crunch of fiber.

Fiber benefit: Oats contain a special type of fiber called beta-glucan, which is famous for supporting heart health and keeping you full for hours.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups milk of choice
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 apples, diced
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl, and the wet ingredients in another.
  3. Combine them, fold in the apples and walnuts, and pour into a baking dish.
  4. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden and set.
